US 50 Highpoints Humphrey's Peak, Arizona Climbing Trip Report with photos by Rex

Humphreys Peak is the highest mountain in Arizona at 12,633 feet. It is located just outside of Flagstaff, AZ near the Snow Bowl ski resort. This was my very first high point and marked the beginning of a successful summer bagging Utah, Colorado, Idaho and Nevada. I apologize for the quality of this trip report, at the time I climbed Humphreys, I wasn't documenting trip reports online, so I didn't take good photos of the route along the hike.

The trail up Humphrey's Peak climbs 3500 feet in about 4.5 miles. The last .75 mile takes as long as the first 3.5 miles. Overall this climb took us about 7 hours roundtrip with little time spent at the top since the flies up there were pretty bad. On the way up there are about 3 false summits which you think is the top until you get up there and realize there is another ridge taking you even higher. Rex and Kristin on top of Humphrey's Peak
